Not sure about you guys but I enjoyed my night at Progressions @ Zirca.

The trance was fucking solid with lots of interesting moments, old classics were played and new tracks were dropped. Incredible.

Zirca’s bass never fails to blow my balls away. If I’m not right smack in front screaming “Kee Kah , Kee Chiew!!” I’m standing in front of their giant speakers getting a bass massage.

Fan girls, DJ worshippers and booty shakers. Nice. Managed to get some great shots of DJ Yukun’s set but no laptop till tomorrow to upload them.

Best part of it all is that I FINALLY FINALLY managed to get a copy of Progressions True Blue Vol 4!

One helluva solid mix, very well arranged with great sound quality. Want a copy? Get in line like the rest of us.

Till then, see you at the next one!

The Vault is fucking awesome man.

I like how efficient the bar staff are. At least i get my card back within five mins unlike some places.

Great music. Reminisce of the good old times of Venom and China Black. Soul and funky house classics for now. Vijay and Cassie are fantastic!

Now waiting for the Love Affair to come on. Getting ready to hit the dance floors. This is looking good already!

Went to Avalon last night. Looks like Wednesday’s have become the new day care centre for underaged kids.

Women pushing and shoving like “aunties” in a wet market for the free flow and guys still having the “How old do you think I am” talk in the elevator.

Think if the cops ever stop by they also can have their bonus period “free flow” here as well.

Generic music, extremely main stream. Exciting for some but definitely not for the dance music aficionados.

Not that Im entirely against mainstream club bangers but the tracks being played last night were pretty dated. Stuff like Usher, Lil Jon, Pitbull, Flo Rida’s older tracks were among them. Cheese I used to spin at parties… 6 months ago.

For ladies the attraction of free “free flow” is there but as for myself, I’ve given up on Avalon Wednesdays.

Whats more, guys have to pay $20 for 1 drink (after free flow hours), if not its $28 for a crummy 2hr free flow. Which is probably one of the most “Bo Hua” free flows I’ve heard of.

My verdict… Don’t waste time. Unless you are a teenager wanting to get sloshed to shit music this is not the night for you. Fridays and Saturdays are much better.

“There is something very stylish about the way she works the mixer and the decks that is always fun to watch. A fluid liquid motion and in one with the music.”

Funniest thing I heard at The Grandfathers day event was from OffCuff’s lead who is a friend of mine.

O$P$ were on at the time and they were the act before them. So I asked…

“Eh bro, got all your gear inside already ah?”

“Not yet man bro.”

“Inside very loud, bit too loud for me. Ears cannot take it.”

This is coming from a guy that is so experimental, he just played a styrofoam box like a violin using a fiddle in his last act accompanied with off pitched clarinet tunes, banging drums with crazy electronic distortions.

Hilarious! I guess in music its certainly is to each his own.

Just got back from My Grandfathers day Art Jam.

Tujubelas industrial didgeridoo performance got the “fuck the system” vibe going for me and Offcuff’s highly experimental ambient style with various instruments and haunting visuals were spectacular. Very inspiring stuff indeed.

In my opinion, these two groups really personified the underground Arts scene today at Substation.

It was also a great day to meet old friends again. Hopefully another one will be in the line up soon. Pictures will be up soon.
